Meetings

The Society meets on the second Thursday of each month and all but the December and June meetings are open to non members and guests.  The June meeting is our Annual General Meeting where the business of the Society is transacted and members receive reports on the Society's progress over the previous 12 months.  The December meeting is a members' Social Evening and pre-Christmas festivities abound.

The programme of speakers until the end of the season is:

9 November 2006
Margaret Curry: "Tale of Two Cities"

14 December 2006
Members' Christmas Social

11 January 2007
Norman Redhead: Archaeology Update

8 February 2007
Elizabeth Bailey: "Quakers of Heyside"

8 March 2007
Peter Watson: "Origin of Surnames"

12 April 2007
Doug Ashmore: "Royton Hall"

10 May 2007

Meetings are usually held in the upstairs room at Littleborough Coach House, situated on Lodge Street in the centre of the town.  Guest speakers start at 8pm but the doors open at 7.30pm and light refreshments are served as members and guests arrive.  We ask for a donation of £1 from members and £1.50 from non members to contribute towards the costs of room hire, speakers' fees and refreshments.
